U.S. Reconnaissance Marines with Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, rappel down a tower during Helicopter Rope Suspension Technique training on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, April 11, 2022. Reconnaissance Marines practice a multitude of infiltration techniques to access any area of operation around the globe. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
