U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, lift a quadcon onto a 7-ton vehicle during a combat service support area exercise at Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 9, 2023. A CSSA provides Marines on the ground with food, water, and fuel to support the mission and sustain an area of operations. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
