On 7 March 2024, Marine Corps University (MCU) hosted our friends and partners from the Japan US Military Program (JUMP), a subsidiary of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA. The event included opening remarks from both Brigadier General Hennigan, President, MCU, and Rear Admiral Takaaki Hayamizu from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, serving as Japan’s Defense and Naval Attaché to the United States. The remarks were followed by a robust dialogue between MCU students and panel members from Japan’s Self-Defense Force, the US Department of State, and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. Discussions centered on the evolution of the Japan-US security relationship, Japan’s strategic direction for defense, and regional threats. (Photo by Thanh Truong)
