U.S Marine Corps Cpl Grace J. Kindred, a Combat Photographer with Communication Strategy and Operations, Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region, documents Marine Recruits practicing Close Order Drill on Shepard Field also known as the "Grinder." This is one of many assignments Cpl. Kindred has accomplished during her time as a photographer. Corporal Kindred arrived at MCRD San Diego on Feb. 22, 2019, as a Combat Photographer, 4531 Military Occupation Specialties. Corporal Kindred has spent the past four years capturing the transformation of Marine Recruits into U.S. Marines. Her photographs of Recruits/Marines have been used throughout the nation and has influenced future Marines and supported the Marine Corps story. A truly exciting time as Corporal Kindred completes her honorable service and leaves the Marine Corps to start her new adventures in her home state of Hondo, Texas. Armed with Marine Corps ethos she will be able to call on the strengths she has gained while serving our Nation to continue serving others. "I'm incredibly fortunate that God has blessed me with the opportunity to work with such great men and women on the depot. I'm grateful for my time in the Marine Corps and everything serving has afforded me, said Kindred." (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Jesse Lora) Do you have what it takes to be a Marine?
