Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kevin Smidt, Handheld Radio Test Set (HHRTS) project officer with Marine Corps Systems Command, demonstrates system functionality during hands-on training and fielding with II Marine Expeditionary Force at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., on May 21, 2025. The HHRTS is part of the Marine Corps’ effort to modernize communications readiness by delivering advanced, user-friendly testing tools directly to the warfighter. HHRTS is a portable, all-in-one diagnostics tool designed to support tactical radio maintenance at the field level, eliminating the need to retrograde systems for basic troubleshooting.
