Capt. Edward Hubbard, the ceremony commander, right, and Pfc. The BCD, composed of the Marine Corps S...ilent Drill Platoon, Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, official Marine Corps Color Guard and a ceremonial firing squad, participated in the event and all are Marine Barracks Washington-based. The ceremony marked the 94th anniversary of the battle and represented the long-lasting American-French friendship, brotherhood forged before the battle grounds of World War I to the current operations in Afghanistan. The cemetery has 2,039 known-buried, and 250 unidentified, who lay in the slopes of the hill. In the chapel, more than a 1,000 are inscribed in remembrance of the missing.
