This rare M1895 Lee rifle was donated to Camp Pendleton History Museums office in 2005 and was initially classified as an M14 rifle. The weapon was once used by the Marine Corps during the Spanish American War and later in the Moro Rebellion. After careful study, Lance Cpl. Alexander Hitchings, museum clerk, discovered its true identity.
