Scott King, public works officer, ROICC, assistant chief of staff Facilities, MCB Camp Pendleton; all made contributions to earn the three Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold awards being held by Myers, Harper and Straub. The awards were presented by the U.S. Green Building Council at the Camp Pendleton’s South Mesa Club, Dec. 14. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program certifies construction projects that are designed to be environmentally friendly. An order was recently released by the Secretary of the Navy stating that new buildings on Naval and Marine Corps installation are required to meet at least a LEED silver certification.
