Mar 18, 2006
Marines and sailors come together to form one team at Fallujah Surgical as Lt. j.g. Michelle R. Evans, a 36-year-old native of Denver, teaches two Marines March 18, 2006 how to perform duties normally done by corpsmen and doctors. Marines attached to Fallujah Surgical provide security for the medical personnel here by searching all patients who come in for any possible weapons or explosives. The staff of nurses, corpsmen, surgeons and Marines here handle the needs of both operating and emergency rooms, acting as a key link between basic medical care in the field and advanced treatment at one of three main hospitals in the region.
