Lt. Col. Jonathan Gackle, commanding officer of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12, cuts the MALS-12 Marine Corps Birthday cake following a special running event here Nov. 10. MALS-12 Marines ran a total of 234 miles at the Northside track to commemorate the Corps’ 234th birthday last week. Marines began running individually and in small groups at 12 a.m. Nov. 9, and finished with the ceremony at 3 p.m. Nov. 10.
