Cpl. Jason Johnson, a student with Scout Sniper School, School of Infantry West, Detachment Hawaii, and a reconnaissance Marine with Company A, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, from Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan, calculates a shooting adjustment while Sgt. Justin Leibach, a recon Marine with Company A, 3rd Recon Bn., fires his M40A3 sniper rifle during an unknown distance qualification course at Range Training Facility Kaneohe Bay on Marine Corps Base Hawaii Aug. 5. Johnson and Leibach were among the infantrymen and recon Marines attending the 10-week Scout Sniper Basic Course in order to earn the military occupational specialty of 0317, scout sniper.
