Lt. Col. Nicholas P. Vavich, the commanding officer of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command’s Marine Special Operations Intelligence Battalion (MIB), salutes the colors during a ceremony, which officially activated the battalion May 18, at the MARSOC headquarters building. The battalion will train and provide intelligence to Marine special operations missions worldwide.
