U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Joseph Castro executes an over-the-shoulder throw on Lance Cpl. Hector Mota during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program course aboard the USS Rushmore. Castro is a motor transportation operator and Mota is an optics technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. MCMAP trains Marines on hand-to-hand combat skills essential to mission readiness, as well as a good source of physical fitness while deployed. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
