Oct. 19, 2018 | 11:07
Approximately 24 Marine veterans from The Basic School (TBS) class, called 1st Special Basic Class, consisting of approximately 360 junior officers of the Marine Corps Reserve, and their family members traveled to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, for the 19th and final reunion, October 17-19, 68 years since they graduated the 10-week course in October 1950. The veterans were some of the first to fight in the Korean War; others fought in Vietnam, and fewer experienced World War II. Throughout the reunion, the veterans and their families were toured around Quantico and its units, visited the Pentagon in the District of Columbia, where they met the Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller, and saw the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia.
