Marines and civilian employees with Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., conducted a simulated mass casualty exercise aboard the base, Oct. 29, 2024. The exercise, which was titled Graduation Blues, simulated a scenario in which an explosive device detonated during a graduation ceremony. The exercise allowed depot and community emergency response agencies to test their internal policies and procedures for treating numerous casualties. Parris Island is grateful for the partnerships within the local community and we want to thank Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, Beaufort Fire Department, Beaufort Water Search and Rescue and the LifeStar Georgia Air Ambulance, who all assisted with the exercise.
