Feb. 22, 2012 | 3:28
Members of the 594th Transportation Co. from Fort Campbell, KY train on how to operate the RQ-11 Raven which is a small hand-thrown UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.) The UAV is used to help secure routes, by ensuring the areas ahead and behind are clear of threats. When the Raven lands on the ground it’s designed to break apart into several pieces, which helps absorb the impact energy of the landing. Includes interviews with Staff Sgt. Walter Lopez-Ortiz and Sgt. Matthew Hair, 594th Transportation Co., Fort Campbell, Ky. Also available in high definition.
