Recruits with Kilo Company and Papa Company conduct a 12 kilometer conditioning hike after completing Firing Week. Next stop... 3rd Phase
March 31, 2018 | 5:37
Recruits of Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, and Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, conducted a 12 kilometer hike March 31, 2018, on Parris Island, S.C. This is one of seven hikes, ranging from three to more than nine miles, that recruits complete during the training cycle. The hikes progressively build in distance, conditioning recruits to take on the rigorous demands of hiking with gear; culminating with a final hike back from the Crucible where they earn the title Marines. Both companies are scheduled to graduate May 4, 2018. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Carlin Warren)
