U. S. Marines attend a Foreign Weapons Familiarization Course on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, April 1 – 4, 2019. The Marines were instructed and tested on assembly, disassembly and handling of Soviet era, German and Belgian assault rifles, machine guns and other weapons to enhance proficiency in completing missions with challenging problems. The Marines who participated in the course were from 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment; 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment; 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group; Expeditionary Operations Training Group, III MIG; 3rd Intelligence Battalion, III MIG; 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, III MEF; and Marine Corps Base Range Control.
