Parade deck preparations for the 2025 Parade Season
March 19, 2025 | 0:15
U.S. Marines with Headquarters & Service Company, Marine Barracks Washington, remove the tarp after annual parade deck maintenance at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., on March 19, 2025. The removal of the tarp symbolizes the beginning of parade season, allowing the Marine Barracks Washington Parade Staff to execute the rest of battalion drill practice. Maintenance Marines maintain the historic parade deck year-round to ensure the grass is suitable for battalion drill practice and the upcoming parade season. The tarp helps protect the parade deck during the colder winter months. The upcoming 2025 Parade Season will honor 250th U.S. Marine Corps birthday and represent the standard of excellence set forth by those who served since 1775. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Christopher Prelle)
