A U.S. Marine with Alpha Battery, 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Platoon, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 363, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, fires an M240B machine gun in the prone position at Kangaroo Flats Training Area, NT, Australia, July 8, 2021. The range consisted of training with an M240B machine gun mounted on a Humvee while bounding and firing from a static position with a bipod. The training hones the Marines’ capabilities as a skilled expeditionary fighting force that is capable of responding to a potential crisis or contingency.
