U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, rappel on a Republic of Korea Marine obstacle course during Korean Marine Exercise Program in Pohang, South Korea, Nov. 1, 2021. KMEP is a bilateral training exercise that increases interoperability and strengthens combined capabilities of the ROK and U.S. Marines. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward-deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
