SUBJ/NAVY CHAPLAIN CORPS 245TH ANNIVERSARY//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  On 28 November, our Nation commemorates the 245th anniversary of the United States Navy Chaplain Corps.  It is a privilege to represent all Marines in wishing our Chaplains a happy birthday and expressing our deepest gratitude for nearly two and a half centuries of superb spiritual leadership.
2.  In both peacetime and war, Navy Chaplains provide comfort, encouragement, and spiritual guidance.  Their immeasurable contributions to the spiritual fitness of our Marines, Sailors, and families significantly strengthen our effectiveness as America’s force-in-readiness and our ability to carry out any mission.
3.  As we face evolving threats to international security, I know that our chaplains will continue to stand alongside us every step of the way.  To all Chaplains, past and present, know that you have earned the respect and appreciation of all Marines, Sailors, and Sea Service families.  Happy 245th Birthday!
