GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  To ensure compliance with obligated service timelines for FY16 SDA classes.
2.  References D and E directed that Marines assigned to 1-16 and 2-16 SDA classes submit obligated service requests no later than 15 July 2015.  Marines assigned to 3-16 through 6-16 SDA classes are required to submit for obligated service no later than 12 December 2015.  As of 6 October 2015, 2013 of the 2768 Marines assigned to an FY16 SDA school still require additional obligated service.
3.  Commanders are directed to ensure that Marines under their command are in compliance and gain the obligated service required. Letters of non-compliance will be issued to those commands, via the Commanding General, that fail to ensure their Marines gain the required obligated service.
4.  Marines that fail to submit for, or accept, obligated service for SDA will receive an RE-3O reenlistment code.  Marines assigned this code are not eligible for promotion, reenlistment, commissioning or warrant officer programs, special pay, education programs, or involuntary separation pay.
5.  Commanders will be given limited temporary authority to extend Marines assigned to 1-16 and 2-16 SDA classes in order to ensure those Marines have sufficient obligated service to execute their orders.  Detailed instructions and names of those Marines eligible for this extension will be released via TFRS message to commanders and force career planners.
6.  Release authorized by Major General Craig Q. Timberlake, Director, Manpower Management Division.//
