SUBJ/68TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NAVAL CONSTRUCTION FORCES, 143RD ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS, AND 168TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  ON BEHALF OF ALL MARINES, I OFFER WARMEST CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL NAVAL ENGINEERS ON YOUR ANNIVERSARIES.  WE ARE PROUD TO JOIN YOU IN CELEBRATING THE RICH HERITAGE OF THE SEABEES THAT HAVE BUILT AND FOUGHT ALONGSIDE OUR MARINES IN COMBAT SINCE 1942.
2.  NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND AND THE CIVIL ENGINEER CORPS CONTINUE TO PROVIDE CRUCIAL WORLD WIDE SUPPORT TO OUR INSTALLATIONS, ENSURING THE UTMOST IN QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MARINES AND THEIR FAMILIES.  WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR REPEATED AND SELFLESS DEPLOYMENTS IN HARM'S WAY TO PROVIDE ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES AND SUPPORT TO FORWARD DEPLOYED MARINES.  FORCES OF THE FIRST NAVAL CONSTRUCTION DIVISION MADE A CRUCIAL DIFFERENCE IN REBUILDING IRAQ AND HELPING THE MARINE CORPS CLOSE DOWN CAMPS IN SUPPORT OF THE RETROGRADE AND REDEPLOYMENT FROM IRAQ.  RUNNING TOWARD THE GUNS, YOUR ONGOING FOUR BATTALION DEPLOYMENT TO AFGHANISTAN IS A FITTING TESTIMONY TO YOUR DEDICATION AND SACRIFICE TO FIGHT AND BUILD ALONGSIDE MARINES AS WE LABOR TO STABILIZE AFGHANISTAN.  YOUR RECENT DEPLOYMENTS TO HAITI TO ASSIST IN THE SEARCH AND RESCUE OF EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS DEMONSTRATES YOUR TRUE HUMANITARIAN SPIRIT AND COMMITMENT TO ACCOMPLISH ALL MISSIONS ASSIGNED.
3.  AS YOU CELEBRATE YOUR PROUD LEGACY AND MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, IT IS FITTING TO PAUSE AND REFLECT UPON THE MANY SEABEES WHO HAVE MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE IN THE DEFENSE OF OUR NATION; WE SHARE YOUR SORROW IN THEIR LOSS.  MARINES EVERYWHERE SALUTE YOUR EFFORTS AND WELCOME EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO WORK AND FIGHT ALONGSIDE YOU ON THE NAVY-MARINE CORPS TEAM.
4.  SEMPER FIDELIS, JAMES T. CONWAY, GENERAL, U.S. MARINE CORPS, COMMANDANT OF THE MARINE CORPS.//
