New Tricare Overseas Program contract begins

31 Aug 2010 |

Beginning Sept. 1, the new Tricare Overseas Program contract goes into effect, giving beneficiaries easier and greater access to health care outside the United States.

International SOS Assistance, Tricare's overseas contractor, is partnering with military treatment facilities to give Department of Defense beneficiaries comprehensive health care services. International SOS operates provider networks around overseas MTFs, and in remote locations to better serve Tricare beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries stationed overseas who want to keep up with the latest information about their health care benefits need to update their family's Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or DEERS, records as soon as possible.

To make sure this information finds its way into the right mailboxes, both real and virtual, beneficiaries can update their DEERS records in several ways. The options include doing it in person at a military ID card issuing facility, online and by phone, fax or mail.

To verify or update an address:
· In person, find the nearest ID card office at www.dmdc.osd.mil/rsl
· Online, go to www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/address
· By phone call 1-800-538-9552 (1-866-363-2883 TTY/TDD)
· By faxing dial 1-831-655-8317;
· Mail address changes to:
          DMDC Support Office
          400 Gigling Road
          Seaside, CA 93955-6771
