Close-Air Support

Qal-E-Naw
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots, an Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew and coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots conducted a show of presence and aircrews conducted shows of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

Asadabad
F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots conducted a show of presence which ground controllers declared successful.

Balocan
Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots released a precision-guided munition against an enemy position. On-scene joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Lashkar Gah
Navy F/A-18C Hornet aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted shows of force, which ground controllers determined successful.

Gardez
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagement successful.

Ali Kheyl
F-16C pilots and F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The Airmen conducted multiple shows of force with flares to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs called the engagements successful.

Bagam
F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews released precision-guided munitions against an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagement successful.

Konduz
F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly-forces. Aircrews conducted shows of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

Chahar Bagh
A-10C pilots and F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews strafed enemy positions. The pilots released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs declared the engagements successful.

Kandahar Province
An Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 28,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Dai Kundi Province
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Dai Kundi Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 22,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Paktika Province
An Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 60,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
