Air staff officials from the Pentagon will visit Scott Air Force Base March 30 to conduct a briefing on Civilian Force Development at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Base Theater.

The hour-long briefing will cover the Civilian Force Development framework, programs and tools. While highly valuable for all personnel, the focus is on General Schedule civilians, National Security Personnel System civilians and military supervisors of civilians.

"Civilian Force Development is designed to prepare civilians to assume greater responsibility and to prepare them for leadership roles in today's Air Force," said Jim McVicar, 375th Force Support Squadron civilian training manager.

Representatives will share information regarding new Civilian Force Development programs to include the Air Force Civilian Development Continuum, the Civilian Development Plan and the Force Development homepage on the AF Portal.

Briefers will include Daniel McMillin, Deputy Chief of Warfighting Integration and deputy Chief Information Officer to the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force; and Leslie D. Roberson, acting Chief of the Airman Development Division, directorate of Force Development and Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel and Services.

Seating is limited to the theater's capacity.
