MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, California -- One Marine was injured, another killed, while conducting training aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif., yesterday.
The Marines were conducting unit training in preparation for the start of Integrated Training Exercise 2-17. The incident occurred at 5:05 p.m. during live-fire training.
The incident is under investigation. The identity of the deceased Marine is being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.
