The intent of this Order is to provide procedures to evaluate explosives safety compliance with the standards set forth by the DoD. Strict adherence to explosives safety standards enhances force and asset preservation by minimizing explosives mishaps that may result in death, serious injury, and the loss of materiel assets. The desired end state is to establish a formal Marine Corps Explosives Safety Compliance Program that will ensure full implementation of the Marine Corps ESMP and compliance with DoD standards.
