Lance Cpl. Luis Rosas, left, and Cpl. Ian Burnham, right, are presented a letter of appreciation by Eikatsu Sakihara, the Chief of the Urasoe City Police Department at the Urasoe City Police Department, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 23, 2016. Rosas and Burnham were awarded for their efforts in assisting an Okinawa resident from a burning vehicle, and eliminating hazards at the scene of a car crash on April 16. Rosas is a Wilmington, Calif. native, and an engineer equipment mechanic with Combat Logistics Regiment-35, 3rd Maintenance Bn., 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Burnham is a Spokane, Washington native, and electrical engineer equipment systems technician with CLR-35, 3rd Maintenance Bn., 3rd MLG, III MEF.
