Col. Barnum received the Medal of Honor during Operation Harvest Moon in the Vietnam War. With a length of 505 ft., and weaponry including over 90 missiles, Arleigh Burke-class destroyers are among the largest and most heavily armed destroyers in the United States arsenal.
