Blue Chromite is a U.S.-only exercise which strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

Marines with Company K, 3rd battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, provide indirect fire support during an integrated training exercise aboard Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Aug. 14, 2016. The Marines of Company K can set up and fire the M777 Howitzer within minutes of arriving at a location, providing quick and accurate fire support to Marines on the ground.
