Marine Corps Reference Publication (MCRP) 3-40A.3, Multi-Service Tactics, Techniques, and procedures for Treatment of Biological Warfare Agent Casualties, serves as a primary reference for recognizing and treating biological warfare agent casualties. It outlines fundamental tactics, techniques, and procedures for potential biological warfare agents directed against human beings, the problems that might be created during an attack in which a biological warfare agent is utilized, and the current methods available to medical and veterinary personnel for recognizing, preventing, and managing these problems. The principal audience this publication is assigned medical services, other medically qualified personnel, and employees of civilian agencies executing and supporting medical operations. MCRP 3-40A.3 supports command surgeons; medical staff officers; medical providers; preventive medicine and public health personnel; veterinary services personnel; chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear personnel; and others involved in planning, preparing for, executing, and assessing the medical effects of biological warfare agents.
