Marines and sailors have been working together since May 18 to assess the integration of the F-35B Lightning II, which is currently on track to replace the F/A-18 Hornet, AV-8B Prowler, and the AV-8B Harrier. U.S. Marines with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF, completed a week of fire support coordination training with Republic of Korea Marines, coordinating close air support with both ROK and U.S. aircraft for the training.
