Earth Day: Marine Corps Installations Command’s Environmental Readiness is Mission Readiness

Every year, increasingly erratic and unpredictable climate forces are threatening Marine Corps installations and capabilities. Typhoon Mawar made this clear less than a year ago when it struck Guam – scattering debris on runways and shuttering access to essential services across the island – or more recently in California when stormwater washed out roads at San Onofre Beach near Marine Corps Base (MCB) Pendleton. More than five years later, the Marine Corps is still rebuilding from 2018’s Hurricane Florence, which caused $3.6 billion in damage to installations on the east coast of the United States.

Marine Corps Conducts Third-Party Inspections for Privatized Housing

The Marine Corps is conducting third-party home inspections for all Public Private Venture military housing units across its U.S. installations beginning Jan. 18. These inspections are part of the requirements established in the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act. The third-party inspections are mandatory and will begin in January, ending by October, and will include all Marine Corps privatized family housing across all 20 U.S. bases and stations, approximately 23,117 units...

The National Museum of the Marine Corps located in Triangle, Va. is one of the donation sites for the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Campaign in Quantico, Va. Toys are collected in the museum’s World War II era jeep. The primary goal of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is, through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Legacy: Toys for Tots Across America

Every year, thousands of Marines, their families and local communities work together to spread holiday cheer to children in need through the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program. The organization was founded in 1947 when Marine Corps Reserve Major (Maj) Bill Hendricks was asked by his wife to deliver handcrafted dolls that she made to an agency that helped children in need. When they could not find any organization, they decided to create one. FY22 Public Private Venture Housing Tenant Satisfaction Survey

The U.S. Marine Corps is conducting a Fiscal Year 2022 Tenant Satisfaction Survey directed towards tenants who live in Public Private Venture housing, or privatized housing, on Marine Corps installations. To ensure more accurate feedback, there will be a separate survey launched to tenants in each housing type this year. For privatized housing tenants, the FY22 TSS will run from Oct. 28 through Dec. 13. Government-owned Family housing and Unaccompanied housing surveys will be distributed in January 2022.
