Sgt. Chad Nillo briefs Staff Sgt. Charles Higgins on possible routes to take on a patrol through the jungle Jan. 7, 2016, on Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Japan, during a three-day field training exercise. Marines with Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, were tasked with locating a simulated enemy platoon in the jungle during the training. Nillo, a squad leader with Alpha Co., BLT 1/5, 31st MEU, is from Newark, California. Higgins, a platoon sergeant with Alpha Co., BLT 1/5, 31st MEU, is from Columbia Heights, Virginia.
