Mason Wilhelmy, a scout sniper instructor with 1st Marine Division Schools, gets a hands-on review of the JGSDF weapons during an abbreviated scout sniper course held during Exercise Iron Fist 2016, on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 1, 2016. The course offers the U.S. Marines and JGSDF soldiers the opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge and increase camaraderie between the Marine Corps and JGSDF in a bilateral training environment.
