Marines with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit board the USS Whidbey Island via fast rope from a MH-60S Seahawk with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 28 during a simulated vessel board, search and seizure exercise. Marines conduct VBSS training operations before certification during the deployment to enhance mission capabilities. The Marines and Sailors of the 22nd MEU are currently deployed with Amphibious Ready Group and will continue to train and improve the MEU's ability to operate as a cohesive and effective Marine Air Ground Task Force.
