Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary unit, I Marine Expeditionary Force, conduct a noncombatant evacuation exercise during their certification exercise in Los Alamitos, Californoa, Dec. 9, 2015. Noncombatant evacuation operations are used to remove U.S. citizens and allies from potentially life-threatening situations such as hostile areas or natural disasters.
