U.S. Marines, allied nations build partnerships, readiness during BALTOPS 16

U.S. Marines came together with various NATO allies and partner nations for a tactical exercise during Baltic Operations 16 at Utö Island, Sweden, June 10-13, 2016. The exercise required multiple nations to conduct a combined offensive attack on a notional enemy force. This year, BALTOPS brings together 17 NATO allies and partner nations and approximately 6,100 service members in order to build relationships, counter transnational threats and bolster security and stability in the Baltic Sea region.
