Marines with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, participate in a division-level combined arms live fire exercise during Steel Knight 17 at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., from Dec. 5 to Dec. 10, 2016. 1st LAR mounted their LAV-25s and headed out into the desert for four days of live-fire exercises and realistic training. The unit acted in support of 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, and also was accompanied by troops with New Zealand’s Queen Alexandra’s Mounted Rifles.
