The Marine Corps and the Office of Naval Research tested out new augmented reality technology at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Dec. 13, 2016. The Augmented Immersive Team Trainer is designed to train forward observers on how to better work with artillery as a cohesive unit known as a joint terminal attack controller. The AITT enables the Marine Corps to train faster, cheaper and more efficiently.

The story includes interviews with Lance Cpl. Kenneth Overstreet, a Fire Support Marine with 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division and Capt. Kevin Fitzsimmons, the Weapons Company Commander with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.
