Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Amphibious Reconnaissance Platoon launch a reconnaissance and surveillance mission as part of training off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 22, 2018. A hydrographic survey provides the 31st MEU with information about the beaches ocean floor and any possible threats placed there.
