U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Kenny Stokes, a radio chief for Company A, 7th Communication Battalion, discusses his unit’s communication exercise, at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 27, 2019. Stokes, a native of Augusta, Georgia, explains the importance of Marines going out in to a field environment and executing their jobs proficiently for the benefit of III Marine Expeditionary Force. Marines took part not only in communication related tasks, but part of the training focused on the unit’s ability to deploy small fire teams in support of long-range rapid deployments where the Marine Corps will need to establish austere bases.
