U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Raphael Younan, a new recruit at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, tells his story about his childhood battle, cancer. Younan was born in Iraq in 2002, his families biggest challenge was not the war but their sons battle with cancer. His family sold everything to support his chemotherapy treatment, however, doctors in Iraq and eventually Turkey would deny treatment to their son. Eventually they migrated to the United States where Younan would be treated and cured of cancer. Younan's next battle is to earn the title, United States Marine. Younan shipped to recruit training Oct. 17, 2022. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Nello Miele)
