U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. George W. Smith Jr., commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force and Sgt. Maj. Peter Siaw, I MEF sergeant major, give a commemorative message to the Marines and Sailors of I MEF for a year of hard work in the face of a high operational tempo at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 14, 2022. In 2022, I MEF worked with allies and partners across 15 countries to boost warfighting readiness, enhance forward postured forces, and refine innovation initiatives to keep pace with
the dynamic environment in any clime and any place. The message is given annually to showcase the excellence and esprit de corps exhibited across I MEF. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Dean Gurule)
