On this Independence Day, Marines of Marine Barracks Washington honor 224 years of tradition, service, and sacrifice at the historic corner of 8th & I. As the oldest active post in the Marine Corps, the Barracks embodies the core values of honor, courage, and commitment. Home to some of our nation's most iconic ceremonial units, including the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, the “Commandant’s Own” Drum and Bugle Corps, the “President’s Own” United States Marine Band and the Official United States Marine Corps Color Guard. Marine Barracks Washington stands as a living symbol of American pride. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Christopher Prelle)
