MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Virginia -- Join the excitement of the Marine Corps Historic Half by Tracking A Runner’s progress along the 13.1 mile course while receiving updates through email, text and on social media networks. Also ready to download is the newly designed Marine Corps Historic Half App, which not only provides important information for runners and spectators but includes runner tracking capabilities and results on Marine Corps Historic Half marathon day in Fredericksburg, Va.
Both the Historic Half App and Track A Runner programs are available free of charge.
Download the Historic Half App through any smartphone to view both the Historic Half and Semper five course maps, event weekend schedule including the Healthy Lifestyle Expo, parking and shuttle information and important event-day news such as weather updates, road closures, Family Link Up location, runner tracking and runner results.
You don’t have to be in Fredericksburg on event day to Track A Runner during the Historic Half – friends, relatives, running buddies – and the runners themselves can track their own progress, while the service instantly posts on their Facebook and Twitter pages. Track A Runner simply by registering for the service at www.marinemarathon.com or through the Historic Half App, and enter either the runner’s name or bib number.
Historic Half runners will be tracked over 13.1 miles at the 5K, 10K, 15K and 20K splits and across the Historic Half finish line. Track A Runner split times are sponsored by the Free Lance-Star, Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksburg and Select Physical Therapy.
Limited entries are available for both the Marine Corps Historic Half and the inaugural Semper 5ive (five miler) presented by Navy Federal Credit Union at www.marinemarathon.com. Unofficial finisher results for both events will be available on the results page of the website.
