Marines and Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) embarked aboard Izumo to support the first ever F-35B Lightning II operations aboard a Japanese vessel. Pima County Roadwork is an Innovative Readiness Training program project that is rebuilding a 2.3 mile stretch of road that acts as a daily road, airfield and bus route.
